You may be aware that 2020 is a very special year for our wonderful town of Welwyn Garden City as it marks the centenary of the town being built. There are lots of very special events planned over the course of the year and the start of the celebrations were marked in style with a fantastic light festival which saw our town centre brought to life with a dancing fountain and live music from local bands. As Wrights are an independent estate agent who aim to be at the heart of our community we were of course very keen to get involved in supporting the centenary festivities. So, we are thrilled to announce that we are going to be sponsoring two of these events and we will be advertising them on our colourful Wrights boards all around town.
The first event is the Centenary Walk which celebrates the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside that surrounds Welwyn Garden City. A path covering a 20.20K circular route has been developed to allow both residents and visitors to enjoy some of our stunning local sights such as Brocket Hall, Mill Green and Stanborough Lakes. The route is accessible to all and you can choose to run, walk or stroll along it. The first organised walk around the Centenary Walk will be on 19th April and is organised by the Rotary club of Welwyn Garden City.
The second event we will be supporting is the Primary School Centenary Games on the 10th July. We’ve loved supporting the PTA’s of a number of local schools and helping out at their events so we thought it would be great to get involved with encouraging health and exercise in our youngsters. These games will include a range of exciting sports tournaments for primary age children and are sure to be enjoyed by everyone.
We hope that you’ll join us in the celebrations throughout the year - and remember to pop into our town centre branch to say hello or to have a chat about any questions you may have whether it’s about buying, selling or renting your property.
